I am really glad to see you here! In this blog I am going to share somethings that I create about 21st century learning. I wish you would like them and enjoy with my blog!
Hi everyone! This week I come with such an efficient and creative idea in language learning/teaching that I am sure that you will love it. As you know in today's world we should teach students how to learn instead of teaching some information by sticking to a curriculum, however, knowing how to learn is more important than teaching to someone or learning from someone. Let me talk about what this task is. This task is called the language awareness task which includes lots of corpora analyzing and data-driven learning. This task is based on PPP ( Presentation, Practice, Produce) that enables students to both learn by themselves without a teacher by discovering the recommended corpus and successively deducing and making the given worksheet by themselves or with group/pair from time to time. I will share that task's recipe with you. 1) Presentation Part: As a teacher, you should present the topic that you want to te...
Hi everyone! This week I come up with a creative and useful idea which help you in your both education and educator life. It is called a "flipped classroom". In this concept like its name, everything is flipped. The houses turn into a real classroom thanks to the created videos on this concept. The students watch the video you have sent them before the lesson and what you are going to do in the classroom is practicing what they learn by themselves with this creative video. It is a great idea to practice and consolidate what a teacher wants to teach the students. However, it has some troublesome parts like some of the students may not watch the video and cannot participate in practice in the classroom. But still, I love this idea. Therefore, I and my partner Rıdvan Burak Öztürk created a flipped classroom video which we hope to inspire you. We have used animaker to make this video. Creating such a video was a great experi...
Hello everyone! This week I have worked on a different topic which attracts me a lot with my friend Rıdvan Burak Öztürk (you can click on his name and see his blog, he has excellent posts on his blog). When I saw the topic of the week which is augmented reality, I thought that it is such an interesting way of presenting a topic. This type of material design type enables you to put a long video onto a piece of paper with "QR codes" and its variations such as the application "ARIZE". To show you what is augmented reality we chose the topic "Travelling to Russia". We have some worksheets which include particular QR codes for each. These worksheets are actually guidance for the Russia trip. They include three places to visit and one traditional and popular meal in the country. Each handout includes some questions and headlines and a QR code. Here is the link to the website which we used to convert youtube videos into Q...
